Two of our musicians in residence are joined by the wonderful Stephanie Gonley, leader of the English Chamber Orchestra and much-recorded concerto soloist and chamber musician.
I have long wanted to programme a work by Huw Watkins, a young composer who writes in the most expressive and beautiful style. This piano trio was commissioned by Vernon Ellis for the Florestan Trio, who have performed it widely.
...dazzlingly good chamber ensemble... exuberantly expressive, intimate style... gorgeously idiomatic playing.
