Amanda Forbes

I first met Amanda in an unforgettable production of Don Giovanni in Bahrain, where she wowed the audience with a stunning Donna Anna. I am absolutely thrilled that Dominic Harlan has asked her to work with him on the schools project, continuing our tradition of asking top class international musicians to work with disadvantaged children in our area.

Friends of the festival, families of participants and the family concerts audiences will be able to hear her on Saturday 29th September as part of the young talent showcase and culmination of the schools project.

Amanda trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio in London.

Her international career has seen her sing as principal artist for English National Opera, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Opera North and Scottish Opera. She has won numerous awards including the Australian National Aria, the Joan Sutherland Society Vocal Scholarship and the Richard Lewis Prize from the Royal Academy of Music.

Amanda performs regularly for high profile corporate and charity events and concerts across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. She has performed as soloist for the Duke of Edinburgh - an event in aid of SSAFA Forces Help, the President of Singapore at the IoD, and recently  at St Brides Church, London for an event in aid of the Katie Piper Foundation.
